Ban Mobiles ......huh!!

The old times have gone and we have changed a lot. With the advancement of technology we have got many good facilities and some really bad effects have also come up.

I am talking about mobile phones . Its a thing without which many cannot live even.

But I am not going to talk about this attachment which has turned to slavery.

Rather I will talk about is the most modern crime..(at least according to me).

These days we see specially in Colleges and Senior Schools that boys take pics of girls and swap it with some other pics. This later on goes to the internet and then what... the girl's life is gone. Is it gone? No, u r mistaken tat's not the issue.

So what happens many people who personally use mobile and such different new things brought out by science and technology say all crap about it.

I recently heard many of my friends saying that mobile should be banned.

Just because people take pics and put it on internet is it necessary to ban mobile which has many more important uses.

The thing is when they see such pics on the net why don't they just think " oh! sum fool must have done it" Sounds funny but it has sense.

Why to take the big step as banning mobiles huh!

I don't understand this.....the perspective is very wrong.

What do u think can be done?

that is called stupidity. Well what we can do,tell people that they can't post pics of others, tell them to post their pictures na and show it to their friends?

Well, my opinion is.. the main use of mobile is to communicate and for that no camera/multimedia or email function is needed. Banning camera phones is a good idea. otherwise, it is saying like "you can bring camera, but don't take pictures". Nice post.

Ban mobiles for kids. Kids < 20 yrs shudnt be allpwed mobiles. we in our college days didnt hv that luxury........

I agree that ban of mobiles is not the solution. If mobile is not properly put to use ,the problem is at user end. Better attitude and education are right solutions.I wish schools and parents come together to let their children learn to respect others. The mobile is not the problem here, the attitude of those people who cross the thin line of morality is the problem, the attitude can become destructive in long run, it may never stop with ban of just mobiles. Internet Porn, MMS scandals ....all these are like chain problems which cannot have a sure shot single solution.

Certainly not..!!
Complete restrictions are not a solution...!!

dat was xactly done by state govt of orissa a few dez back.no mobiles in campus.but who obeys?
instead camera mobiles shud b banned, but god knos if the mischief mongers will behave better!!

As you said, banning mobiles is an extreme decistion. Probably, stopping facilities such as camera and video on mobiles will do some good, I would say. If mobile's main purpose is to communicate btw each other, then calling and messaging are well enough.
At the same time, students and children should be taught on how not to abuse the use of cell phones. Or, there should be mobiles made for specific age ranges with limited activities.

Well, people must have the responsibility of having conscience.,. One should realise the way his actions might impact some other person's life.,. Unless one decides for himself to change, nothing much can be done about it.,.

Yes, we can have rules as to prohibit takin photo of others without their permission, with a strict penalty fee but that wouldnt be the ultimate solution.,.

This is a great post, very thought-provoking.

I think it seems like the mobile phone is only the INSTRUMENT of the problem, not the cause. So here is a simple solution. If it is boys taking pics of girls and putting them on the internet, then we should just ban boys and keep the mobiles.

Or is that a bit too radical?

Sorry man, Was really busy dese days...
Agreed...ppl's destructive mentality is to gr8 to go unnoticed...
huh...they dunno the reason behind it..
Like Ayn Rand says that Money is not the root of all evil, did we ever htink wha was the root of all that money? :)

In each and every thing many advantages and disadvantages are there.... In using things like this we have to use it in correct way.... No use of targeting the device or technology. We have to be correct!!

when a part of our body gets infected, we dont kill ourselves, we kill the infection!

when a man kills someone, we dont hang the entire men on earth, we hang the killer!

when a potatoe we buy from market is decay, we dont stop using potatoes, we just throw away the decayed one!

what ever we do depends on priorities, implications and details. we never think of a generic solution for specific incidents. then why do we have to ban mobile? why this generic solution? just because its easy for law makers? ;-)

so my answer to "Just because people take pics and put it on internet is it necessary to ban mobile which has many more important uses. is NO !

Heh heh heh... Mobile phones- a necessary evil... :D

And well, even corporate places have started 'banning' mobile phones. Especially the ones with a camera. So, I guess, rather than put a total ban on mobile phones, it is better to put a hold on those models which incorporate a camera...

And well... Similar to wht one of ur readers has already said- wht do u think a monkey ll do with a garland?
