Marriage ...the legal stamp...huh!!

This is going to be a very sensitive topic and I know that many of my readers won't agree to it at all...

Marriages are made in heaven....see I am not going to talk about the heavenly things now.

Hmm we always have heard about rapes..as forced intercourse with a woman..but we never think that married woman too are forced to have sex....

Is this not also a kind of rape...

Many women are forced to have sex.

Those who force their wives into sex ..don't they have to be called animals..

or marriage gives legalization to every such husband....

Just because someone is your wife can you treat her like a thing ...a sex doll...is it the only purpose for which people marry...
is there no emotional and mental interaction...

Have ur say...

I am ready to take up any good constructive argument...

You are so right my young friend. Forcing oneself to his wife is something like a marital rape but it is not a crime in the penal code. Still that should not stop the woman from filing a complaint in the proper court if she thinks that she was wrongfully violated by her own husband. A least the husband will be censured or reprimanded by the judge. Thanks for this post. God bless you always my young friend.

marriage is not legalization of rape and it should never be, and yes reality is different, but only change of mindsets can make a difference. Bringing it under legal jurisdiction may solve the problem to an extent, can be of help to many, but that can never be implemented exactly in the way it intended to be. Misuse of law is not a new thing. One thing may change situations, not overnight, but through generations.......we are only bookish educated, if we can spread the right kind of education....a holistic one..may be we can lead a better life in a better society

Hmmm... Marriages may be made in heaven, but so are thunder and lightning.

And yeah, I took part in a discussion with one of my friends a few months back. And she was of a similar opinion too. Off late, marriage is a license to rape... Of course, not everywhere. But still... Guess carnal desires jack up to their zenith...

Peace.

Love and Sex should not be forced.. it should come automatically. if we force that to get it, then it won't give full satisfaction and at the same time it will surely cause so much pain to others in their heart. It will affect them mentally. According to me one who forces her women for Sex in unfit to live in this World. Because even though she is his wife. She too have feelings in her heart. If he is really a true husband means, then why should he force her to have Sex. This ridiculous and very bad... Women are not Sex dolls. From my point of view women are really a very good supportive things and medicine in each and every men's life. So the each and every men should try to love her partner irrespective of her beauty, Sex and so on. Because Sex is just a part, so no need to give much importance to it.

Love your partner and enjoy your life. Before this love yourselves first.. Then u will feel the difference...

Have a nice time friend..

Marriage is done basically of both the persons interest only then how come u say that women are forced to sex ???
Basically sex shouldn be in a forceful manner ... if it is in that way it should be taken into consideration from the woman that she can give a complaint !!

men get married only for that..they will be desprate for that chance..

Akshaya Kamalnath said...

Very pertinent. The IPC in fact lists marriage as an exception to rape!!!
So marriage is deemed consent to be raped by one guy????
Many countries do recognise marital rape and I strongly believe in India of all countries, you have to recognise it since women are not at all empowered.

Anonymous said...

You're correct, of course. Women have been brainwashed into thinking that once they get married, they become the "property" of their husbands. What's worse, in a country like India where women are treated as "sex objects" and "child-bearing machines", because of the non-sensical phrase "marriages are made in heaven", men think they have a divine right to rape their wives or force them to bear children. A man has no right to have forced sex with any woman without her consent, even if it is his wife.

The very last line of ur comment...tats the statement...and I guess it shud be made a law too.

Nice post but you could have related this compulsion in marriage with some other example.

Sex is not the only thing which you gonna have after marriage. In this country, many people are getting married out of compulsion but still they live life together. Maybe for a month or 2 they will be feeling bad and ignore each other but life has to move on so they will lead their normal life soon they realize the real world.

Why are you only talking in woman's point of view, why not men gets raped? When it comes to marriage both men and women play equal role.

I agree that love and sex can't happen by forcing, but if we have the mindset of not to marry the person who we don't want to, then the problem is solved. Just if we don't stand against people who are against our wish and go on with their decision ignoring and forgetting our wish, we can't blame them. Its our mistake to marry the person whom we don't like.

The solution is possible in 2 ways :
1) Don't marry the person whom you don't like. Speak out.
2) Go on with you life and don't feel like you are raped.
