Apparent Depth !!!!!!

Many people believe that if a person is smiling and joking then that person is superficial and if a person is serious and always rude then that person has some depth.

.....When KBC part 3 came on tv then many said "what is this Shahrukh Khan is just joking and just wasting time and is not like big B who used to be serious all this is western impact". Without denying the fact that Big B wasn't superficial I would say even if SRK was a little more joking and smiling he was also not superficial. Those who have seen the show very well know how many serious things he spoke in that joking mood.
Now my point is though both of them went on different ways but they both were very serious hosts their own ways.
I am saying this because I have seen many people who look serious but are really superficial.
So its really really wrong to associate depth with seriousness. As our actions are which tell us whether we are superficial or not and not what we pretend to be or what we show others.

The main thing is people like those who say jokes and sees them as one of their own while those who are serious are given more respect. it's normal. 'N most people who are above a particular age likes people who are serious, I think

Thats the general percetion among the majority i gues... being jovial or quiet doesn't have anything to do with whether a person is genuine or not!

But its not a stereotype of the society this time ur talking about, its abt human nature...things that make one.
We relate easily to what we have seen b4, its difficult to relate other reasons to laughing than being funny...however, I laugh coz of different reasons very often... so i don’t trip upon that stereotype.
Its all what I call ‘influence’ actually, where people try to change others by things they think the other is perceiving...if we work by reason alone, nothing of this would be present, if the people in reality knew what he was trying to mean and related by how n why he was doing it...
I also think taht SRK did a gr8 job....woooooooooo!

i am jovial+seriously quiet ;).....superficiality is in the eyes of the observer isnt it?

It depends upon my circumstances and situations... I am 50 - 50.....

I dun believe in that. Facial expressions and the way we talk dun define our depth and knowledge.

The actions alone can't explain a person as a whole or whether he/she is superficial or not. but at the same time, as u meant, the word 'pretend' tells us directly that it is not the reality. Thats just a false play.

I always felt that Mr. Bacchan did it better.
